Thin Mints Cold Brew - Chameleon Coffee Review

glass mug and coffee can

Who doesn’t love a Girl Scouts’ Thin Mint? Or an entire sleeve of Thin Mints? Personally, I love mine straight from the freezer, and Mr. Brew agrees. So we were curious about the special edition Thin Mint Cold Brew from Chameleon Coffee out of Austin, TX. Can the canned coffee live up to such an iconic cookie?

Once you crack the can, you immediately smell the mint chocolate! The mint is sharply aromatic but tones down to a more drinkable level as it rests. There is a slight biscuity flavor that lingers on the palate at the end of the sip. Every ounce is teeming with chocolate and mint flavors and is anything but shy.

The coffee base was cold brewed with a French roast coffee, which is usually stronger and smokier in flavor. The coffee flavor itself was lost as the mint and chocolate were so strong but Chameleon made the right move with a French roast. Although I wanted to taste more of the dark, smoky undertones, a lighter roast coffee would have resulted in an acidic, sickeningly sweet concoction.

One interesting thing to note is the nutritional facts. Although we all know that eating a sleeve of Thin Mints isn’t healthy for us, this can of Thin Mint Cold Brew was positively surprising. There is only 10g of sugar (which is lower when compared to other sweet canned coffees) and it is sweetened with monk fruit, which helps consumers reduce their sugar intake.

Even though I usually enjoy my coffee on the darker side of things, the Thin Mints Cold Brew was unique and fun to drink. I would not have been able to drink the entire 8 oz on my own however, but for those who enjoy sweet coffees and Thin Mints, give this one a taste.

Cheers,

Mrs. Brew
