Nitro Flash Brew - Puro Nitro Coffee Review
Born in San Antonio, Puro Nitro is a blend of down-home tradition with a modern twist. The founder Daniel Mezza wanted to create a coffee that was rich in flavor and reminded him of drinking coffee at his grandmother’s house. What resulted was a Flash Brew Nitro Coffee infused with cinnamon and vanilla.
The flash brew process involves brewing hot coffee and then rapidly chilling it to maintain a rich, deep flavor. And with cinnamon, vanilla, and creamy nitro, this sounds like a recipe for success.
Once poured, Puro Nitro’s Nitro Coffee has a thick head that maintains the entire time. The nitro dissipates slowly and offers a creamy mouthfeel. The vanilla is quite forward in aroma and flavor, but we don’t notice much cinnamon. The coffee is mildly acidic with strong berry flavors reminiscent of a light roast coffee. It is strong and has a whopping 200 mg of caffeine in only 8 oz (an average 8 oz cup has about 95 mg).
If you love a strong nitro-infused coffee and want to shop local, look to Puro Nitro! They also have cacao and vanilla flavored coffees that are sure to add even more creamy sweetness to an already delicious brew when the San Antonio heat reaches its peak.
Barista Note: If you are more sensitive to acidic coffees or are not a fan of light roast qualities in your brew, the Nitro Coffee black may not be right for you. Try the mocha variety instead for a creamier and less acidic flavor.
Cheers!
