HEB Cafe Ole Nitro Cold Brew RTD Reviews

If you’ve followed Mr. Brew and I for any amount of time, you’ll notice we are fans of the HEB Cafe Ole line up. So it was only a matter of time before we tried two of their canned Nitro Cold Brew Coffees: Latte and Vanilla.

A few weeks ago we tried and shared our thoughts on the Cold Brew Black which was STRONG and dark with bold smoky flavors. That same coffee base is back again, but tamed by the sweetness of milk and vanilla.

Nitro Cold Brew Latte

Creamy and delicate with a medium-bodied mouthfeel, the Nitro Latte has a strong coffee flavor and just the right amount of sweetness with the addition of milk. This was well-blended and a smooth sipper. If you usually have cream in your coffee, this is definitely the drink to go for. It has a nice balance of coffee to cream without losing the coffee base flavor.

Nitro Cold Brew Vanilla Latte

This canned coffee has a sweet vanilla aroma that carries through to the flavor and balances the strong coffee base. The vanilla is gentle and sweet without being acidic and cloying. If you usually enjoy vanilla lattes or vanilla coffee, this one is right up your alley. It has the same great coffee and cream flavors as the Latte with the sweetest addition of vanilla to brighten the whole can.

The Latte and Vanilla Nitro Cold Brews contain 120mg of caffeine in a jam-packed 7 oz can, but don’t leave you feeling jittery and buzzed. Instead, they are refreshing and help lift those heavy eyelids when you need a burst of energy. Be aware of the sugar content, especially in the Vanilla Latte which has 14g compared to the Latte’s 9g.

Both lattes were creamy and well blended, but did make a mess when shaken (gently!) to ignite the nitro inside. The resulting coffee blend was well worth it.

Cheers,

Mrs. Brew
