Southbound Coffee - San Antonio, TX

As Mr. Brew and I were exploring the city the other day, we happened upon Southbound Coffee. This bright pink truck is inviting, and the waiting customers confirmed that we should stop and try it out. We are so glad that we did!

We ordered the Mexican Mocha and the Dirty Chai w/ 2 shots.

The Mexican Mocha was the coffee version of Abuelita’s hot chocolate - which is one of my favorite drinks around the holidays. The Mexican Mocha was not overly sweet and brought an authentic touch of chocolate bitterness. We ordered this with only a single shot, but I think that it would be equally as delicious with an extra shot, just more coffee flavors compared to hot chocolate flavors.

The Dirty Chai… I have had a lot of chai latte’s in my life and so many of them are acidic or watery, and completely out of balance with spice and espresso. So, I was beyond excited to taste that Southbound Coffee has delicious chai! It was a great balance of spice and espresso with the clove really coming through and pleasantly warming my mouth. It was creamy and not at all acidic. This is definitely a chai coffee I would drive across the city again for.

If you are downtown San Antonio and in need of refreshment, Southbound Coffee is a great truck to stop by. They are kind, quick, and have lots of fun coffee flavors to try. But I’d recommend the Mexican Mocha and the Dirty Chai. You won’t be disappointed.

Cheers,

Mrs. Brew
