Summer Moon Coffee - San Antonio, TX

Summer Moon has become quite the hot spot and has grown like crazy over the past couple years. So I couldn’t help but share our thoughts on some of their more iconic drinks.

Mr. Brew and I ordered the Half Moon and a Mocha Moon. These drinks are both half sweetness and each have an extra shot (I love my espresso!).

The Half Moon is made with their oak roasted espresso and moon milk (Summer Moon’s signature, secret sweet cream), but with no additional sweeteners and it is always my go to when I am at Summer Moon. It has a subtle vanilla interlaced with the creamy frothy milk, but it requires no balancing of additional sweeteners. I rarely (if ever) find a “plain” latte that I enjoy, but I definitely am a fan of this one. Because of the extra shot, the espresso really shines, but does not overpower the other flavors.

The Mocha Moon was a new experiment, having never ordered it before. It also came with half sweetness in the moon milk, and simply elevated the creaminess and gentle sweetness to new heights. The chocolate was gentle but pleasing, and I could still find the subtle vanilla. The espresso was present, but again not overpowering.

Between these two lattes, the flavor was consistent. Both were creamy, delicious, and balanced with the espresso. And, as latte’s go, these were affordable – costing us only $13 for the two medium drinks with extra espresso.

In addition to great espresso, each shop we have visited has friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere that is great for socializing with friends or sipping quietly.

If you find yourself in need of a smooth latte, head to Summer Moon and snag the Half Moon or the Mocha Moon. It’ll be just the pick-me-up you need.
