La Colombe Coffee - Vanilla Draft Latte Review
Next up on our canned coffee adventure is La Colombe’s Vanilla Draft Latte. I was intrigued by the “foamy nitrous-infused milk” and how it would affect the cold brew coffee inside.
After cracking it open, I likened the aroma more to an Irish Cream coffee over a distinct vanilla. It was light in color, creamy, and homogenized when poured into a glass. This creamy coffee coats the mouth, even making it a little dry, and tastes of a subtle vanilla. It isn’t overbearing in the slightest.
It was clear that this is nitrogen infused because the nitrogen helps create a thicker, creamier texture and aids a natural sweetness. When I looked deeply at their ingredients and nutrition facts, I saw that it was lactose free and gluten free, which is an added bonus.
This coffee touts 115 mg of caffeine but does not deliver on the acidity you might expect from a strong coffee, which is great. The Vanilla Draft Latte is easy to drink and I can feel the necessary caffeine kick, but it didn’t leave me feeling bogged down. The creamy texture and subtle vanilla sweetness worked well together to create a canned coffee very similar to a Nitro Vanilla Cold Brew you might get from a coffee shop. Although they might not have needed both milk and nitrogen in my opinion, this was still a flavorful and enticing drinker.
After doing some additional research, I learned that La Colombe Coffee is dedicated to “chang[ing] the world by making people happy.” They donate to charities like Feeding America, and use sustainable practices such as recyclable packaging and composting of their grounds.
They are driven by their guiding principles and by creating a quality product. Give their canned coffee a try (or any La Colombe coffee, they have tons!) and let us know what you think.
Cheers,
