A Southwest Adventure
We were recently blessed with the opportunity to explore the Southwest as ambassadors for Karbach Ranch Water. We took to the highway and started our exploration with some staples of the Texas Hill Country: Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Park.
Garner is always a beautiful place to visit with lots of hiking and river access, and you just can’t beat the beauty of the trees at Lost Maples.
Shortly after that, we packed up and headed West to Guadalupe Mountains National Park to hike the tallest peak in Texas. The views are unreal and showcase the immense diversity of Texas. We popped up north to visit Carlsbad Caverns, before heading south to Big Bend where we stayed in beautiful dome tents at The Summit at Big Bend. Complete with National Geographic’s Most Scenic Drive, hiking for all skill levels, and beautiful scenery in every direction, we were again captivated.
As we camped closest to Terlingua, we were able to sample a fair bit of the local cuisine. We first stopped at DB’s Rustic Iron Barbeque where we ate the most tender brisket either of us have ever enjoyed and topped it off with refreshing Karbach Ranch Water. The next night we enjoyed Long Draw Pizza that served a wide variety of delicious and unique West Texas pies. Both places were full of happy and kind people that showed immense pride in their corner of the state.
Although we were excited for the Christmas festivities at home, leaving West Texas was difficult and we have been eager to head back and spend more time in Alpine and Terlingua. The expanse of country you drive through to get from San Antonio to the mountains of Guadalupe is something I hope everyone will experience in their lives. It is diverse, stunningly beautiful, and full of history at every turn.
Thank you Karbach Ranch Water for the opportunity to explore the Southwest and its beauty. It is an experience we will never forget.
Cheers!
