Ranch Water - A Texas Original

If you walk down any alcohol aisle today, you will see lots of cans touting “ranch water” that look deliciously cold and enticing. Although the brewing methods differ out of a can and fresh at home, we can all say with certainty that Ranch Water was born in Texas.

Cheers at the Top of Texas.

But, what is ranch water?

Traditionally, this Texas drink is made with blanco tequila, sparkling water (such as Topo Chico), and a spritz of lime. But I am seeing it more often made with hard seltzer instead of tequila when searching for a can.

Whether you choose to mix it or buy it, Ranch Water is bright, refreshing, and full of bubbly sweet goodness.

My first (and most significant) encounter with Ranch Water is none other than Karbach’s Ranch Water. Starting with their Original [and very traditional] Lime, they have grown their line to include Prickly Pear, Meyer Lemon, Grapefruit, Watermelon, and Spicy Mango.

Each of these cans has a special beauty and deliciousness to them that is perfect after a long, hot Texas day, but my particular favorites are Grapefruit and Watermelon.

Hundred degree summer days cannot beat the refreshing and light flavors, but they are equally as refreshing on a cold evening when you want to curl up on the couch and relax. At an average of 4.5 ABV and only 90 calories, you can’t go wrong.

Karbach recommends pairing their Ranch Water with fajitas, pulled pork, chips and guac, and “hot Texas days.” We have tried Karbach Ranch Water with numerous meals and can confirm it goes great with just about everything, and especially with barbeque.

Grab a six pack of Karbach Ranch Water and keep it in the fridge for an evening chiller. But be warned, you’ll be back in no time to grab another one.

Cheers,

Mrs. Brew
