Taste of San Antonio - Cafe Ole

IMG_3236.JPG

HEB’s Cafe Ole does a great job of attributing their coffees to the state of Texas and the flavors that naturally surround us.

Taste of San Antonio is described as a “medium‑bodied coffee with subtle undertones of cinnamon, chocolate, and vanilla.” Right after opening this bag, I am met with a strong but sweet cinnamon and vanilla aroma.

After brewing, the aroma balances out to create a blend of forward cinnamon and vanilla flavors while the chocolate lingers more as an aftertaste. The medium roast of the coffee beans brings a slightly dark quality that acts as a balancer for the sweeter flavor profile, allowing for a full-bodied cup of coffee.

Taste of San Antonio comes in sample size bags (which are great in a pinch), 12 oz bags, and K-cups. With our usual brewing metrics, one pre-ground sample size bag is the perfect amount for a French press (50g).

I am not usually a fan of my black coffee having a lot of flavor in it, but this is one that I can drink often. The flavoring is definitely strong, but isn’t so abrasive that I can’t enjoy the natural coffee flavors. And after enjoying it for a few years now, it still remains a household favorite.

Cheers,

Mrs. Brew
