Hub City Blend - HEB Cafe Olé Review
Hub City Blend from HEB’s Cafe Olé lineup is named after the city of Lubbock, TX. With flavors of sweet cream and rich vanilla, we were eager to brew a cup of this blend after enjoying similar flavors in Pan Dulce over winter.
Hub City is a medium roast coffee which perfectly balances with the delicately sweet flavors. It has a strong vanilla aroma that is slightly subdued once brewed. We brewed to our usual specs in the French press: 200F, 50g, steep 4-5 minutes, plunge, and pour. The first flavor we note is the sweet cream. It is delicate and pleasantly coats the mouth and is expertly paired with the vanilla.
If you enjoyed the Pan Dulce over the winter, this is the year round equivalent. It has the strong vanilla flavors with less of the breadiness and all of the rich creamy taste you are seeking. This is easily a coffee that can be enjoyed with both sweet and savory breakfasts. Drink it black or add a splash of creamer.
Grab a bag, brew a cup, and enjoy!
Cheers,
Mrs. Brew
