Christmas in a Cup - HEB Review

Aww, Christmas time. There is something about the holiday that brings out the very best in people. With such good cheer in the air, we want some cheer in our morning coffee as well. So we looked to HEB’s Christmas in a Cup holiday special.

I’ll admit we tried this blend first in a K-cup and shrugged our shoulders. It was okay, but we missed the advertised notes of vanilla and spices. But then…

We brewed it to our usual specs in our French press and WOW! It is a completely different coffee. There is little to no visible bloom, but there is an immediate note of spice and a strong vanilla aroma. In flavor, the spices are forward, followed by a gentle custardy vanilla that lightly coats the mouth. The spices taste like a blend of cinnamon and nutmeg which brings a pleasant tingle to the palate.

Out of the bag, this coffee is delicious and a wonderful accompaniment to the holiday cheer. If you want a more simple and affordable k-cup, this is a good choice, but you’ll be missing out on the flavors that only shine in the freshly brewed ground coffee.
