Herbaly Tea Collection - Review
Every now and then we leave room on the blog for a spot of tea. Even though we drink coffee a lot, we enjoy our teas and are critical about how they make us feel. Plus, we know coffee has been around for a very long time, but tea came first and has been enjoyed by humans since 2700 BCE (according to Chinese legend). And with a legacy like that, we dive into three new teas today from Herbaly. Each of Herbaly’s unique blends has your health in mind. They are focused on providing positive targeted health effects while using a special blend of ingredients, without compromising on flavor and quality.
Skinny Leaf
This blend of tea is designed to help curb sugar cravings and support your digestive health. It has a low to medium level of caffeine (more than Wellness Connection) and is primarily made of yerba mate. Yerba mate is traditionally used to help enhance energy and boost metabolism, making it the perfect base for Skinny Leaf. Other ingredients are ginger root, cinnamon bark, and gymnena leaf. Once brewed, Skinny Leaf has an earthy aroma with strong notes of berry. The berry was forward in flavor (could that be the gymnena leaf?) and was followed by a subtle cinnamon that left a pleasant tickle on my tongue.
Glucose
This functional blend of gymnena leaf, milk thistle, fenugreek, and dandelion root (plus much more) is the gentlest of the Herbaly teas we’ve tried. It has no caffeine which makes it perfect for any time of day and is designed to help you manage glucose (sugar) levels and improve your metabolism. This one is probably the easiest to drink as it reminds me of a gentle chamomile. It has a floral and grassy aroma that makes me think of dew on a foggy morning. That gentle aroma is complemented by a soft mouthfeel and finished off with a hint of peppery (like black pepper) warmth from the dandelion root.
Wellness Connection
The Wellness Connection blend is one of Herbaly’s most popular and for good reason. Comprised of ingredients like sencha leaf, ginger root, fennel seed, dandelion root, tulsi leaf, and turmeric root, you have a blend of health and wellness in a delicious tea. This tea has low caffeine levels and reminds me of a chai. It is light, with a strong ginger flavor followed by the herby, earthiness of fennel seed and turmeric. Both the turmeric and fennel are subtle compared to the ginger but add to the warmth of flavors. The balance in Wellness Connection was just what I would hope for in a chai-like tea.
To prepare for this review, I drank these teas regularly over the past few months. Each of the teas, differing in flavor but similar in health benefits, made me feel great. The Skinny Leaf curbed my morning-snack desires, effectively holding me over until lunch. The Wellness Connection and the Glucose tea both helped me feel awake, alert, and helped my stomach feel satisfied too. I didn’t feel tired when my coffee was replaced – even with the caffeine-free Glucose tea. I know that if I needed a reset or wanted to improve my gut health, these teas would be a great way to embark on such a journey. Each is delicious and the Herbaly team is ready to help and provide information on the teas and their intended health benefits. If you are curious about Herbaly, reach out to them and ask about their teas. If you are ready to make a healthy change in your life, any of these three teas is a perfect place to start.
Cheers,
Mrs. Brew
